Eric Church Speaks Out Against NRA

Eric Church is still coming to terms with last year's Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, and he holds the National Rifle Association somewhat responsible.

Eric, who had left Vegas before the shooting, says, "It’s selfish of me. But my first thought was, ‘I hope it’s not our fans. We had a lot of fans there. We even promoted online travel options to make it easier for people to come. I felt like the bait: People come to see you play, and then all of a sudden they die? That is not an emotion that I was prepared to deal with. It wrecked me in a lot of ways.”

Although he is a gun owner himself, Eric believes in the need for gun reform, and he blames the NRA for being a roadblock in the process.

He knows he'll get push-back from his fans on these views, but he says, "I don't care. Right’s right and wrong’s wrong. I don’t understand why we have to fear a group [like the NRA]. It’s asinine. Why can’t we come together and solve one part of this?" (Rolling Stone)

A few fans are clapping back, but many agree with him too.
