Ironmom Competes In Triathlon With Special Needs Daughter In Tow

Finishing an Ironman triathlon is an impressive accomplishment, but one mom made it even more challenging by competing with her 23-year-old special needs daughter.

Beth James swam 2.4-miles, biked 112-miles, and then ran 26.2-miles while pushing and pulling her daughter, Liza, the whole way through last year’s Wisconsin Ironman event.

This year the pair became the first mother-daughter special team to compete in the Ironman World Championship.

This is a HUGE deal. Several of my friends have done the Ironman, including my husband, (he did two!). And I myself have completed a HALF Ironman, which was no easy feat. I know how hard training can be, I can't imagine doing this like this IronMOM above did. KUDOS to her and what she has shown in the face of adversity. ~Shelby
