ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE:

*Advisory: Bob Sykes bridge is being closed due to roadway damage.

*County Road 55 in Summerdale, AL closed due to flooding at Pole Cat Creek from Hurricane #Sally

*Florida Highway Patrol closed I-10 EB at the Alabama / Florida state line due to flooding.

*MOBILE: I-10 Bayway (BOTH WAYS) is closed for the time being after a couple of 18 wheelers turned over this morning. Winds are too strong. Will re-open later. Causeway is open – closed (wind)

*Cottage Hill Rd between Repoll Rd & McFarland Rd – closed (tree)

*ramp to get onto i65 Southbound from Moffet Rd is blocked due to a light pole falling onto the interstate. Cops on Scene

*Advisory: PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE IS CLOSED TO NORTH AND SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC. BRIDGE WILL REMAIN CLOSED INDEFINITELY UNTIL AFTER THE STORM AND FDOT CAN EVALUATE DAMAGE. - Garcon Pointe is open

*The Florida Department of Transportation has closed the Lillian Bridge on US-98 at the AL/FL. Motorists will not be able to cross the bridge from either side. Please use an alternate route

City of Pensacola Road Closure Notice

Several roadways in the City of Pensacola have been closed due to flooding from Hurricane Sally.

The following roads are closed:

  • Pensacola Bay Bridge
  • 17th Avenue at the CSX railroad trestle/Graffiti Bridge
  • DeVilliers Street at Main Street
  • Interstate 110 at the Interstate 10 ramp 
  • 9th Avenue at Romana Street
  • 6th Avenue at Highland Drive
  • Sonia Street at K Street
  • Coyle Street at Main Street
  • Main Street at G Street
  • Main Street from Baylen to Clubbs Street
  • Government Street from Reus Street to Clubbs Street
  • J Street south of Cedar Street

Drivers are asked to stay off the roads. Never drive into hazardous flood water, and remember to Turn Around Don't Drown®. Follow these flood safety tips: 

  • Get to higher ground – Get out of areas subject to flooding.
  • Do not drive into water – Do not drive or walk into flooded areas. It only takes 6" of water to knock you off your feet and 2 feet of water to carry away a vehicle. 

Stay informed – Monitor local radar, television, weather radio, internet or social media for updates.

WC Holmes Bridge, located on Highway 59 crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, is now closed

The WC Holmes Bridge, located on Highway 59 crossing the Intracoastal Waterway, is now closed due to excessive winds and dangerous weather conditions. This decision was made after confirming sustained wind speeds in excess of 63 mph and gusts up to 80 mph with NWS Mobile.
