The lives of Two Americans tangle when 9-year-old Katherine Figueroa watches her Mexican parents arrested by Sheriff Joseph Arpaio on the local news. As Figueroa gets involved in a movement to oust the Sheriff from office, a community group succeeds in pressuring the County Board to investigate the spending activity of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. When Arpaio retaliates, the legality of his actions are called into question in the form of an federal criminal probe. This film enters the heart of an American family living in the shadows of a state that has criminalized their existence and walks in the shoes of the Nation's most recognized lawman as he stares down criminal charges of his own. Both Kathy and Joe fight for what they believe is right. Will Kathy save her family? Will Joe keep his badge?
