Jennifer Nettles has been on a hiatus after giving birth to little Magnus. In that time Kristian Bush has been doing his own thing, launching his own website and writing music. We all saw it coming, but didn't know how to feel about it. Well here it is: Jennifer Nettles has announced she's coming out with a Solo Album!
Adds Nettles, "It's a celebration of my roots, and where I am today. I'm a different version of myself than what people might have known before – not only in my songwriting and performance, but even in the sounds on this album. It reflects a more soulful, grittier life. A lot has been lived in the time between the last record I made and now, and you can hear that."
The album, untitled as of right now, is due out this fall. Rick Rubin is producing it. Rick has worked with artists such as Johnny Cash, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, and more. To say he knows talent is an understatement.
We wish Jennifer the best of luck, and even though it's a bittersweet feeling knowing that "Sugarland" is no more, for now, it's exciting to see new music from her!!!

Paul Stone here: Sometimes the day to day grind can really weigh on a person. In those times you can think back and wonder, why didn't anyone tell me "real" life would be like this? Well this commencement speech does and really opens your mind.
Here at Upworthy, we make it a mission to find things on the Internet that have real meaning — things that take you out of the tempting narrow focus of your own existence and give you some perspective about your neighborhood, your community, and your world. This speech, delivered at Kenyon College way back in 2005, encapsulates that vision perfectly. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Did you enjoy it? Pass it on!
