  • MUSIC NOTES

Miranda Lambert’s acting role on NBC’s "Law & Order: SVU" is set to air Feb. 8. She plays an actress whose safety is in question.

Elsewhere on the small screen, Scotty McCreery will sing "The Trou-ble With Girls" on the CW’s "Hart of Dixie" on April 23.

And Reba McEntire is bound for the March 2 edition of NBC’s geneology-centered "Who Do You Think You Are."

In addition, the Hollywood Reporter indicates ABC has green-lit "Nashville," a prime-time soap from a pro-duction team that includes "Thelma & Louise" writer Callie Khouri, director RJ Cutler and Gaylord Entertainment.

Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium will have its his-toric stage replaced for the first time since 1951. Work begins Feb. 4, one day after a Grand Ole Opry installment that features Keith Urban, Charley Pride, Edens Edge and the Oak Ridge Boys.

Dierks Bentley’s Feb. 2 appearance will mark the last full concert on the old stage, while the Band Perry’s Feb. 20 date is slated to be the first one on the new flooring. An 18-inch strip of vintage wood will remain along the front edge to provide continuity for the venue, which was an important launching pad for the likes of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn.

    GOOD WORKS

Kellie Pickler participating in a program designed to drop more money in the kitty at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In honor of February’s designation as Cat Appreciation Month, Pickler teamed with Fresh Step litter and fashion designer Geren Ford to offer a limited-edition cat sweater with 100% of the revenue earmarked for the ASPCA. In addition, Fresh Step will donate $1 to the ASPCA for every picture featuring the sweaters that fans post to Facebook using its online application here. The sweater can be purchased for $35 here.
