Kenny Chesney had a life-changing moment last year that made him re-evaluate how he was living.

That moment came when his longtime friend Kristi Hanson died of a brain aneurysm at age 35. Kenny tells People Country"You realize it could all end in a second. And if it all went away just like that, did I do everything I wanted to do, did I say everything I wanted to say?"

Kristi was part of a group of friends Kenny met when he began hanging out in the U.S. Virgin Islands back in the early '90s. "Happy on the Hey Now" -- a song on his Life on the Rock album -- is dedicated to her.

The new issue of People Country, featuring Kenny on the cover, hits newsstands on Friday.

Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band are among the all-star guests on John Fogerty’s new hits compilation, Wrote A Song For Everyone, which lands today (Tuesday).

The 14-track collection is a new spin on John’s most popular songs including “Born On The Bayou,” which features Kid Rock and “Fortunate Son,” with guests Foo Fighters. Rolling Stone gives the collection a five-out-of-five-star rating.

Wrote A Song for Everyone track listing:

    1. “Fortunate Son” with Foo Fighters

    2. “Almost Saturday Night” with Keith Urban

    3. “Lodi” with Shane and Tyler Fogerty

    4. “Mystic Highway”

    5. “Wrote A Song For Everyone” with Miranda Lambert and Tom Morello

    6. “Bad Moon Rising” with Zac Brown Band

    7. “Long As I Can See The Light” with My Morning Jacket

    8. “Born On The Bayou” with Kid Rock

    9. “Train of Fools”

    10. “Someday Never Comes” with Dawes

    11. “Who’ll Stop The Rain” with Bob Seger

    12. “Hot Rod Heart” with Brad Paisley

    13. “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” with Alan Jackson

    14. “Proud Mary” with Rebirth Brass Band, Jennifer Hudson and Allen Toussaint

Keith Urban's upcoming album now has a title and a release date.

It's titled Fuse -- not surprising, since his summer tour is called Light the Fuse -- and it is slated to be in stores on September 10th. It'll be his first studio release since 2010's Get Closer.

Keith kicks off the Light the Fuse tour on July 18th in Cincinnati.
