 Dan Brennan
 Dan & Kim
 Dan's "aircut"
 from Dan's hat collection
 VERY strong Dan
Favorite Food and TV: I love a good tender steak ( meduim rare, please). I rarely miss the 7:30 re-airs of Comedy Central's "Colbert Report" Who do you admire and why: Vince Lombardi.I read a wonderful biography about him a few years ago. A man of great faith, discipline and command.
One thing you can't live without: College Football on Saturday nights
Pet peeve: Rude people. Especially those in a service oriented job ( And you want me to give you money?)
Favorite local hangout: Wherever Shelby's going. Then it's free.
Favorite Country artist(s): Dierks Bentley, Phil Vassar and, of course...Jennifer Nettles
Pets: "Scout" is our two year old Rat Terrier / Jack Russell mix. "Whiskers" is our one eyed cat. Not only is he indifferent towards me but it may go beyond that. The other day I could have sworn he made an obscene gesture in my direction. Can you do that with a paw?
Life motto or creed: "Do unto to others" is always a good place to start.
How neat is your sock drawer: I'm not sure. Where IS my sock drawer?
Favorite breakfast cereal: Tiny Diny Hot Cakes...yummmmmm.
What book are you reading now: I love most of John Grisham
Best Childhood Memory: Getting four hits in one little league game. The league immediately instituted drug testing.
What was your first album: Creedence Clearwater Revival's Greatest Hits
What's always in your fridge: Provelone Cheese, O.J. ( the drink not the felon ), Sweet Tea
What else do we need to know about you: I love what I do. Does it show?

 Shelby Mitchell
 Shelby & The Fireman
 Young, Innocent Shelby
Personal: I grew up here on the Gulf Coast, visited lots of places, had opps to go to bigger cities, but stayed her b/c my family and friends are here and I love this place! I wake up and thank God every day for a wonderful life. My child is a 13-year-old Yorkie/Silky named Cocoa who is totally blind, and has diabetes. I have to give him shots twice a day. My other dog (Makayla) passed away the day of Hurricane Ivan, and she was ten and a great pet. I have a sweet pet-sitter and friend, Jackie who takes care of my baby. I have a FANTASTIC husband (known as "The Fireman") who is absolutely, the best EVER. I didn't think they still existed. He is a Mobile fireman/paramedic and he works very hard and is good at everything he does. He is the sweetest man in the world with a great heart. (nice biceps too!) Dad is from Hawaii and we used to go every summer. I have great memories of TONS of cousins, aunts, and uncles in Hawaii. I go back whenever I can (have to save up!) :-) Lost my mother October '05. People need to cherish the ones they love and take advantage of life here while you are here. Make the most of it. Remember what is REALLY important.
Education: Greystone Christian School. University of South Alabama. Double major, communication and English.
Something about yourself that's really really cool: I ran a marathon (26.2 miles!) in Rome, Italy for the Diabetes Association...and met John Malkovich in a cafe!
Loves (hobbies, whatever): any outside sports, swimming, running, diving, reading, scenic drives, live music, acting goofy
Hates (pet peeves, anything): People who judge. Look in YOUR OWN backyard. AND people who gossip about something they know NOTHING about. AND: petty things, shallow people, and whiners. AND: people not wanting to know or deal with the real truth. Hey, life is short!
Favorite movies: 80's movies, Forrest Gump, Pretty Woman, Silence of the Lambs, Pulp Fiction, all Rocky's & Terminators, all Austin Powers, Titanic, Shawshank Redemption, Raiders of the Lost Ark, anything Will Ferrell, so much more...but I can't remember.
Favorite food: lasagna and sushi (not together)
Favorite childhood memory: Slumber parties with girlfriends...staying up late, talkin bout boys, playing Monopoly, watching movies, fixing hair
Favorite Country Artist: Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Pat Green, Gary Allan, Dixie Chicks, Brooks & Dunn, Sara Evans, George Strait, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, many more
Favorite Quote or Creed: "Carpe Diem" (Sieze the Day) and "Carpe Carp" (Seize the Fish), and sometimes "Carpe Crapper" (seize the toilet)
First concert: Country: Country: Alabama or Kenny Rogers. Can't remember but it was like 1980. Pop: Air Supply. (For real. Stop laughing. It was the "new" laser light show!)
Craziest thing you've ever done: Rode with the Blue Angels and flew the plane (f-16 or F-18) for 5 seconds. Barfed 8 times. It's on tape.
Something you've always wanted to do but never have: hang glide and parachute
My sweet grandmother passed away at the age of 90. She was awesome. She came from Ohio to visit my sick mother for 16 years every year until mom passed away. She made everyone laugh. Also my Aunt Ann (on the right) who used to take care of my grandmother, just passed away unexpectedly. Please pray for my cousin Stormy (on the left) and her family. they were like the Three Musketeers. Here they are along with the fourth generation, my sweet baby cousin William. Life is short, so please make the most of it!
Shelby's Grandmother She visits the Breakfast Club every Friday and is so much fun and a wonderful inspiration to us all. She has a GREAT story! Read her book and tune in to hear her on KSJ Fridays from 8-9am. Email her at mshappiness@bellsouth.net. |

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is staying dry... good riddance Fay!!! Shelby's very cool rain boots
Welcome back from vacation Dan!!! Did YOU bring all that rain with you? Never go on vacation again. Scroll below to see Dan with some superstars, one of who never made it on stage last weekend... Also, check out his new Football page (see home page) it's great! Break out the chips and dips, and your favorite jersey, it's about that time ya'll! GO TEAM GO!!!Thanks to The Ronald McDonald House and MAIFA for putting on a fabulous event, the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" fund raiser Friday night. It was AWESOME! A ton of fun with manicures, pedicures, massages, martinis, food, and all kinds of girly-oriented stuff for us ladies. Oh, and THE KING was there! Thangyaverymuch. UPDATE ON MY BABY: Thanks to everyone who has asked about Cocoa. He is doing unbelieveably well! He is back to normal, barking and demanding I serve him snacks. And I will, gladly. He has his stength back to go for walks (very short ones) but with the rain it's been tough. Here he is post-op. I have closer ones, but I won't put them up becasue they are a little too graphic for those who are squeamish. It's amazing what can be done these days. Oh mom...where is my SNACK????
SHELBYSPEAK!

Good night it has been crazy lately! But thanks to everyone who has checked out our page! Be sure to scroll down and check out the Kanine & Korner area and the Ticket Exchange bottom left. Also, check out the Cool Things To Do (only if you are cool) teehee.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Thunder on the Gulf, it was fun! Except for the Torrential Downpour concert, I mean Lee Ann Rimes and Sugarland concert...minus Lee Ann Rimes. Here's the scoop: it was so rainy that they had to push things back. AND also there were some technical issues (they had to wait for things to dry out or else it would have been very dangerous) so for the most part, the Powers That Be decided to scrap Lee Ann due to Baldwin County/Wharf curfew isssues. So yes, bummer if you were there just to see her, but I hear Sugarland made up for it by putting on a GREAT show. I've seen them a few times and YES they are great on stage. Oh well, you know when you go to am amphitheatre what could happen! two words: RAIN PONCHO. And patience.
Dan and Kim may have been the only two to see Lee Ann.
Dan and Jennifer Nettles (oh and that guy from Sugarland too, Kristian Bush) ------------------------------------------------------------- I had to take my sweet baby, Cocoa, to the emerg vets...long story short, his retina ruptured (we had been expecting that) and he got his eyeball removed on Monday, bless his heart! I was really scared for a minute there, but his kidneys are fine, his diabetes is in check, so it was pretty much just the infected eye that had to go. Pretty good for a 15-year old dog!
Here he is, God bless him. If he keeps pawing it, Doc Pietryzk says we may have to put one of those lamp-shade/cone thingies on him! awww
Even thought Dan is on vacation, we are still emceeing a great event Thursday. Scroll down to COOL THINGS TO DO section.
Have a great week! xxoo from Shelby
P.S. DOGGIE UPDATE! Cocoa is doing MUCH better! He gets his bandages changed today. I know he is better becasue he is barking and demanding his snacks again. He is up walking around waiting to be served, so he is definitely feeling better! Thanks to my friends at Pet Friendly in Fairhope who gave him a really nice Get-Well basket!!!
