(from Dan):

Ashton Shepard had a show Saturday night at the War Bama Club in Coffeeville, Al with Daryl Singletary. Although I could not stay up for the show, I did make my first ever trip to the legendary “Pickin’ Shed” in Leroy.

What is the “Pickin; Shed” you ask? It’s just that. It’s kind of an old one room wooden structure on their property. It has been converted from whatever it was into a place to write and play music.

Ashton, Baby Raden and James

Ashton played some of her new music for me. It was great as always.

Her son James also showed off the gadgets he loves most in the shed. They include a disco ball, a roto-ball (it hangs from the ceiling and spins around splashing different colors all over the room, and last but not least…James’ favorite…his fog machine he likes to use when he’s playing the drums.

James is only 5 years old and is VERY good on the drums already!

It was a GREAT time!
